Pamela Sue McMahon (nee Ammerman), 61, of Suring, saw her pain end and entered eternal life on Sunday, June 21, 2015. She was born Oct. 6, 1953, to Roland Fred Ammerman and Arlyne Marie Ammerman (nee Collins) in Suring. The youngest of four daughters, she graduated from Suring High School in 1971. She married the love of her life, Douglas Allen McMahon, on Nov. 9, 1973, at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, Suring.
She worked at Suring State Bank, stayed home to raise three children, and then worked for Suring Public Schools and Flynn Oil Company. In 2000, she had the opportunity she had dreamed of: the chance to own and operate her own bar. She operated McMahon’s Irish Waters with Doug and her family from 2001 until the time of her illness with cancer in 2014. She loved visiting with the customers and, as is a trait with all Ammerman women, was a talented cook. She took pride in her menu, especially her handmade pizzas.
She will be remembered for her eagerness to laugh, her sense of humor and wit, which was not above an occasional dirty joke. She loved time with her family, especially with her four beautiful grandchildren. She enjoyed her time trout fishing the Big Hole River in Montana’s Big Sky country. She loved to collect cookbooks, cooking, ice fishing with her husband, attending local stock-car races, dancing to polkas, and having fun with family and friends.
Left to celebrate her life are her husband of 41 years, Douglas; a son and two daughters,: Scott and Jennifer McMahon, Neenah, Kimberlee and Mitch Taylor, Gillett, and Tiffany and Jon Ringelstetter, Sheboygan; and four grandchildren:, Leo, Shamus, Lillie and Margaret Alice.
Also celebrating her life are her sisters, Joyce Anderson, Suring,; and Lois and Melvin Reichwald, Gillett; brother-in-law, David and Rebecca McMahon, Gillett; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister and brother-in-law, Charlotte and Norman Wasmund; and her brother-in-law, Vernon Anderson.
Visitation will held at Gruetzmacher Funeral Home in Suring on Wednesday, June 24, 2015, from 4-8 p.m. Visitation continues on Thursday at Mount Olive Lutheran Church from 9 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Michael Paholke officiating. Pamela will be interred in Pine Hill Cemetery.
