Oconto Hospital surpasses goal with Nerenhausen gift

The Oconto Hospital Citizens’ Foundation recently received a stock gift from Jim Nerenhausen in support of Oconto Hospital. Dr. John Honish announced the gift at the Oconto Hospital Citizens’ Foundation board of directors meeting on Friday. “It is a momentous day,” said Honish, as he revealed the gift of $107,247. Nerenhausen’s gift brought the total raised by the foundation to $1,504,110, pushing it over its $1.5 million goal established in 2011. “The joy of having quality local healthcare readily accessible and serving the health and wellness needs for our local community and the surrounding area is a dream that has come true. We are very thankful for the generous support given by Jim Nerenhausen and all who have made a contribution,” Honish said. “Quality health care is a vital component of a strong community, and our expanded facility fosters this high quality of care.” “It’s important for people in the Oconto area to have access to superior health care close to home,” said Laura Cormier, vice president of operations at Bellin Health Oconto Hospital. Naming opportunities remain available in the Oconto Hospital expansion project. For more information regarding making a gift or naming rights, call the foundation at 920-834-5444.
