Proceedings from Dec. 17 An initial appearance was held for Matthew M. Casper Jr., 31, Oconto, on a felony charge of escape criminal arrest which allegedly occurred Oct. 23 in Oconto. The court set a $50,000 cash bond. A preliminary hearing was Dec. 22. An initial appearance was held for Joseph J. Walkowiak, 31, Oconto, on a felony charge of strangulation and suffocation attempt, repeater, and two misdemeanor charges which allegedly occurred Dec. 15 in the city of Oconto. The court set a $1,500 cash bond with conditions of no contact with the victim. A continued initial appearance is Jan. 14. An adjourned initial appearance was held for Horacio L. Perez, 34, Gillett, on a felony charge of attempting to flee or elude an officer and a misdemeanor charge which allegedly occurred Nov. 16 in the city of Oconto Falls. A $1,500 cash bond continues, with conditions of no driving without a valid driver’s license and absolute sobriety. A preliminary hearing is Jan. 4. A preliminary hearing was held for Taylor R. Petersen, 23, Laona, on a felony charge of armed robbery attempt, repeater, which allegedly occurred Sept. 14 in Lakewood. A $50,000 cash bond continues, with the condition of no contact with the victim. An arraignment is Jan. 13. Proceedings from Dec. 16 A waiver plea hearing was held for Daniel W. Cornelius, 35, Crivitz. He pleaded no contest to a felony charge of OWI, fifth or sixth offense, on March 15 in the city of Oconto Falls. The court deleted the offense of OWI with passenger under 16. A charge of possession of methamphetamine and a misdemeanor charge were read in by the court. A $20,000 cash bond continues, with conditions of absolute sobriety and no contact with the victim. Sentencing is Jan. 25. Proceedings from Dec. 15 A sentencing hearing was held for Janae Tress Kellogg , 17, Gillett, on a felony charge of reckless driving causing great bodily harm and a misdemeanor charge which occurred on Jan. 11, 2015,in Lena. Sentences for both counts were withheld, and Kellogg was sentenced to three years probation. During probation she must complete 100 hours of community service, to include speaking to groups about the dangers of driving while under the influence. Other conditions are no driving without a valid driver’s license, two years revocation of her driver’s license, six demerit points, then two years of the ignition interlock placed in all vehicles she owns. She must follow all recommended treatments suggested by the Department of Corrections including but not limited to alcohol and other drug abuse treatment, maintain absolute sobriety and pay restitution and court costs of $2,248. Proceedings from Dec. 14 An initial appearance was held for Joseph J. Brandt, 35, Lena, on felony charges of second degree sexual assault with use of force, two counts, false imprisonment and two misdemeanor charges which allegedly occurred Dec. 13 in the town of Lena. The court set a $25,000 cash bond with conditions of no contact with the victim, no possession of any firearms and absolute sobriety. A continued initial appearance is Jan. 14. An initial appearance was held for William H. Coppens, 37, Oconto Falls, on felony charges of strangulation and suffocation (domestic abuse), false imprisonment and three misdemeanor charges which allegedly occurred Dec. 12 in the city of Oconto Falls. The court set a $5,000 cash bond with conditions of no contact with the victim, no possession of any firearms and absolute sobriety. A continued initial appearance is Jan. 14. A waiver preliminary hearing was held for Ryan J. Berg, 31, Oconto, on five felony charges of failure to support child, 120-plus days, which allegedly occurred February 2013 through June 2015 in the city of Oconto. A $6,000 signature bond continues. An arraignment is Jan. 14. A waiver preliminary hearing was held for Barbara E. Grib, 45, Green Bay, on felony charges of possession of narcotic drugs and two misdemeanor charges which allegedly occurred Oct. 7 in Pensaukee. A $1,000 cash bond continues, with conditions of no driving without a valid driver’s license and absolute sobriety. An arraignment and a possible plea and sentencing on the misdemeanor charge are scheduled on Feb. 1. Proceedings from Dec. 8 A waiver preliminary hearing/arraignment was held for Wayne M. Chrisman, 42, Pulaski, on a federal charge of OWI, fourth within five years, which allegedly occurred Oct. 9 in Pulaski. A $2,500 cash bond continues. A pretrial conference is Jan. 14. A waiver preliminary hearing/status conference was held for Nathan R. Spindler, 34, Sobieski, on a felony charge of OWI, fourth within five years, and six misdemeanor charges, which allegedly occurred July 29 and Nov. 12 in Chase and Aug. 3 in Little Suamico. A $10,000 cash bond continues. An arraignment/status conference is Jan. 26.
