A Shawano teen already facing multiple auto theft charges is accused of stealing another car while out on bond, fleeing police and ramming a squad car during the chase. Lindsay R. Holstrom, 16, is accused of stealing a car in the 900 block of South Lutz Street sometime after 9 p.m. Friday. Police were investigating the Lutz Street theft when they got a tip that Holstrom had run away from home and was in a stolen vehicle, according to the criminal complaint. A short time later, police received another call, this one from a woman reporting a vehicle on South Lincoln Street driving without headlights. Police caught up with the vehicle, which sped away at 40 mph in what would be a 25 mph zone, according to the criminal complaint. Holstrom allegedly drove through several yards attempting to elude police, striking and damaging a boat trailer at one point and ramming the front driver’s side corner of a patrol car that had pulled up alongside her. The roughly quarter-mile pursuit ended with Holstrom ditching the vehicle and fleeing on foot. The Police Department’s K-9 unit was brought in and Shawano County sheriff’s deputies assisted in the search. Holstrom was located in a backyard in the 300 block of South Lincoln Street. She has been charged with felony counts of auto theft, fleeing an officer and reckless endangerment. She also faces four felony bail jumping counts, along with 12 counts of misdemeanor bail jumping and obstructing an officer. Holstrom could face a maximum 10 years in prison and $25,000 fine for reckless endangerment if convicted. She is accused of endangering the safety of a police officer when she allegedly rammed his squad. Holstrom could also face six years and a $10,000 fine on each of the felony bail jumping counts if convicted, and 3½ years and a $10,000 fine on each of the felony charges of auto theft and fleeing an officer. Earlier Friday, Holstrom had been charged with three felony counts of auto theft and one of attempted auto theft that allegedly occurred in the city of Shawano on May 12. She could face a maximum six years in prison and $10,000 fine on each of the three auto theft counts, and three years and a $5,000 fine for the attempted auto theft. Authorities charged Friday’s auto theft as a lesser class felony than Holstrom is facing from the alleged May 12 incidents, carrying a lesser possible penalty. Holstrom had been waived into adult court Friday on the May 12 charges and freed from juvenile detention in Brown County on a $3,000 signature bond set by Shawano-Menominee County Circuit Court Judge James Habeck. On Monday, Judge William Kussel Jr. ordered Holstrom held on a $10,000 cash bond on the new charges. Holstrom is scheduled for an adjourned initial appearance on the new charges July 8, the same day she was scheduled to make her initial appearance on the previous charges.
