Bears win own volleyball invite The Bonduel High School volleyball team went 9-2 in its invitational Tuesday in Bonduel. The Bears went 3-1 against Suring, 3-0 against Lena and 3-1 against Waupaca. Jen Dowden led Bonduel with 42 kills. Taylor Weier added 25. Courtney and Miranda Schmidt both had 32 assists. Shawano dominates Antigo in soccer The Shawano Community High School boys soccer team beat Antigo 12-0 Tuesday in Shawano. Garrett Schlise had three goals and two assists to lead Shawano. Austin Singer had three goals and an assist. Chance VanDyck had two goals. Also scoring for the Hawks were Zack Dickmann, Alex Retzlaff, Nate Wilson and Jacob Moesch. Shawano goalie Jacob Meisner had two saves. Shawano (3-1-1) travels to New London to open Bay Conference play Thursday. Hawks split at Pulaski The Shawano Community High School boys soccer team went 1-1-1 at the Pulaski Invitational on Saturday. Shawano opened the tournament with a 1-1 tie with St. Lawrence. Shawano then lost to Oshkosh North 2-1 and beat Green Bay West 5-0. Cats roll over Maranatha Baptist Bowler/Gresham beat Maranatha Baptist 72-32 in a Great 8 Conference football game Thursday. The Cats (2-0) built up 649 yards rushing, including 246 by Zach Olson on 22 carries. Olson scored two touchdowns. Cody Montez added 169 yards on 18 carries and three touchdowns. Bowler/Gresham quarterback Thomas Kazik went four of six passing for 39 yards and a touchdown. Joe Serrano also returned a forced fumble for a touchdown. Hawks fifth at Chilton invite The Shawano tennis team took fifth at the eight-team Chilton Invitational on Friday. No. 3 singles player Holly Schwecke placed second. No. 4 singles player Molly Haas took third place. At No. 3 doubles, Sara Hockenstad and Meghan Hoffman were the consolation champions.
