Clintonville won its 13th Badger Amateur Baseball Association grand championship, beating Elderon 13-7 Sunday at Don Jirschele Stadium in Clintonville.
It was Elderon’s fifth runner-up finish in as many tries.
Elderon led 5-3 in the top of the seventh, but a 10-run rally with two outs by Clintonville sealed the outcome. Hits by Dean Muthig, Jesse Wiley and Mack Schingler tied the game at 5-5. Aaron Everts, Jared Westphal, Griffin Wiley and Ryan Ebert combined to give Clintonville a 9-5 lead.
After a John Dunlavy RBI single, Muthig delivered a three-run homer to cap the rally.
Dunlavy was the winning pitcher. He scattered 15 hits and struck out three. Rick Boda took the loss. Marv Meronk and Shawn Kerstner also pitched for the Whiskey Jacks. They allowed 12 hits, struck out six and walked five.
Dunlavy, who was named the game’s most valuable player, went two for five with a double and four RBIs. Muthig finished two for five with a home run and three RBIs.
