Marjorie E. Tischler

Marjorie Elaine “Mutzy” Tischler, 87, of Shawano, passed away Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, in Shawano. Born on March 4, 1926, in Bonduel, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Hilda (Boerst) Karrow. Mutzy lived most of her life in the Bonduel area and graduated from Bonduel High School. On April 14, 1949, she was united in marriage to Ernest Tischler in Bonduel. He preceded her in death on Sept. 3, 2009. Mutzy was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel and was a past member of the Altar Guild. She was also a member of the Bonduel Women’s Club, the Golden Sands Women’s Golf League and the Graf Lumber bowling team for 25 years. Mutzy had very special memories of family vacations with her children and grandchildren. She and Ernie had wonderful times with them. Mutzy enjoyed golfing and bowling, watching the Packers and Badgers, and reading. Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Susan (Keith) Ross, of Waunakee; her son, Tom Tischler, of Cecil; her two loving granddaughters, Lindsay, of Baton Rouge, La., and Kimberly, of Costa Rica; a sister-in-law, Sarah Tischler, of Green Bay; a nephew, Kenneth (Sandi) Tischler, of Arizona; a niece, Judy (Peter) Hoffman, of Shawano; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Ernie; two sisters, Edna Tischler and Eleanor Duwe; a brother, Les Karrow; her stepfather, Erwin Lawrenz; two stepbrothers, Hans and David Lawrenz; a sister-in-law, Olga Tischler; and two nieces, Shirley Schlei Larsen and Kathleen Duwe. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel with the Rev. Timothy Shoup officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 9 am. until the time of the service. Swedberg-Wendt Funeral Home in Bonduel is assisting with the arrangements.
