Fleeing A Suring teen is facing a felony charge of fleeing an officer after allegedly leading authorities on a high-speed chase last week. Darmen L. Cloud, 19, is accused of speeding away from an attempted traffic stop by Menominee Tribal Police in the early morning hours of Sept. 19 and fleeing into Shawano County. He allegedly reached speeds upward of 80 mph in a 55 mph zone, according to the criminal complaint, before finally stopping on County Road G in the town of Red Springs. Cloud could face a maximum 3½ years in prison and a $10,000 fine if found guilty of fleeing an officer in a vehicle. He is also charged with three counts of felony bail jumping, each of which carries a maximum possible six years in prison and $10,000 fine, and a misdemeanor count of operating while revoked. Substantial battery A Wittenberg man has been charged with a felony count of substantial battery as a result of an alleged assault in the village of Eland in July. Nicholas W. Minniecheske, 32, is accused of striking a man during a July 15 altercation and causing a facial injury that required four stitches, according to the criminal complaint. Minniecheske could face a maximum 3½ years in prison and a $10,000 fine if convicted. He is also charged with a misdemeanor count of trespassing. Minniecheske is due in Shawano-Menominee County Circuit Court for an initial appearance Oct. 7. Possession of narcotics A Shawano man is facing a felony count of possession of a narcotic drug for allegedly having Oxycodone on him without a prescription after a hit-and-run incident in the city. Brandon J. Kleczka, 25, could face a maximum 3½ years in prison and a $10,000 fine if found guilty. He is also charged with misdemeanor counts of second-offense operating while intoxicated and possession of an illegally obtained prescription. Police investigating a property damage hit-and-run Sunday located the suspect vehicle allegedly driven by Kleczka by following a trail of fluid that had apparently started leaking after the crash. Kleczka’s vehicle was also damaged and its airbags had deployed after hitting a parked vehicle on Zingler Street with enough force to push it up onto the curb, according to the criminal complaint. Police found Kleczka on the ground on the passenger side of his car with his hood up over his head, the complaint states. Kleczka allegedly had 30 pills of illegally obtained prescription drug Alprazolam on him when he was arrested, along with one Oxycodone pill, for which he had no prescription, according to the criminal complaint. Kleczka is free on a $500 cash bond and is due back in court for an adjourned initial appearance Monday.
