John A. Erickson, 59, Wittenberg, died on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was born on June 13, 1954, in Wausau, the son of the late Martin and Genevieve (Meverden) Erickson.
John owned and operated Erickson Frame Repair, Wittenberg, and was also employed at the former Wittenberg Ford garage. He enjoyed flying remote control model airplanes that he built. John was always willing to lend a helping hand when needed. Most important to John was the time he spent with his family.
Survivors include three children, Kim (Robin) Schmidlkofer, Wausau, Jesse (Lindsay) Erickson, Fort McMurray, Canada, and Chase (Kourtney Krueger) Erickson, Shawano; four grandchildren, Aaron, Bailey, Connor and Genevieve; and one sister, Judy (Wayne) Patterson, Wittenberg.
John was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Stacey; granddaughter, Peyton; and a brother, Jerry.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013, at Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Wittenberg. The Rev. Michael Larson will officiate. Inurnment will be in St. Philomena Catholic Cemetery, Birnamwood. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 1 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
