Goodwill NCW and Safe Haven domestic violence and sexual assault center are encouraging Shawano area residents to participate in a donation drive on June 24 and 25.
Residents are asked to drop off their bags and boxes of donated items at the Shawano Goodwill store, 300 Lakeland Road. Goodwill’s donation attendants will help them unload their items and provide tax-deductible receipts.
“By donating goods that you no longer need, it keeps these items out of the landfills, restocks our shelves when store inventories run low, and helps people in our community at the same time,” said Dan Flannery, vice president of community relations for Goodwill NCW. “What makes this Goodwill drive even more special is that your donations will benefit Safe Haven Domestic Abuse and Sexual Assault Support Center in Shawano.”
Stacey Cicero, executive director of Safe Haven, said Goodwill and Safe Haven have had an excellent working relationship over the years, and the donation drive is just another example of their collaboration.
“Goodwill has always been very supportive of our programs and assists our clients by providing them with Good Neighbor certificates to use when shopping in its stores, as well as offering job training through the New Horizon program,” Cicero said. “Our clients have benefited greatly from both of these programs.”
