BOYS BASKETBALL Gresham 89 Marion 29 Neal Cerveny set a school record with 48 points Friday night on 17-of-21 shooting from the field and 8 for 8 from the free-throw line. The previous record of 47 points was set a season ago by Christian Haffner. Drew Haffner scored 10 points and tallied five assists for the Wildcats (5-0, 3-0 Central Wisconsin Conference-10) in the victory over Marion (1-3, 0-3 CWC-10). Ray Creapeau added 8 points and eight assists. Chris Buss led the Mustangs with 12 points. Wild Rose 70 Menominee Indian 54 Nickolas Corn scored 11 points to lead Menominee Indian, which trailed by just 1 point at halftime. Ron Frechette added 10 points, and Dustin Waupoose scored 9 points in the loss for the Eagles (3-1, 2-1 Central Wisconsin Conference 10). Wild Rose improved to 3-1 overall and 2-1 in conference. GIRLS BASKETBALL Shawano 69 Green Bay East 53 Freshman Tori DePerry led the Hawks in scoring with 15 points, and senior Sydney Schreiber added 10 points in a home victory Friday night. Seniors Megan Klitzke and Teagan Monfils each added 9 points for the Hawks (3-3 1-2 Bay). Klitzke added four assists and three steals. Erika Dunnam had 12 rebounds for Shawano. Morgan Klitzke also recorded three steals. Green Bay East (3-3, 1-2 Bay) was led by Jaida Reynen’s 23 points. Bonduel 50 Iola-Scandinavia 37 Junior guard Danee Collier scored 15 points and added six steals and six assists to lead Bonduel to a road victory Friday night. Junior Emily Sorenson also tallied 14 points to go with 10 rebounds and five steals for Bonduel (5-1, 2-1 Central Wisconsin Conference-8). Senior Taylor Weier recorded 10 points. The Thunderbirds fell to 2-3, 1-2 CWC-8. Menominee Indian 42 Wild Rose 35 Senior guard Taylor Mahkimetas scored 14 points and senior center Ania Smith added 11 in as Menominee Indian remained unbeaten. Menominee Indian improved to 6-0, 4-0 Central Wisconsin Conference-10. The Wildcats fell to 1-4, 1-2 CWC-10. Marion 42 Gresham 31 Senior guard Paige Polzin scored 12 points and center Kalyssa Watters added 9 points and seven rebounds in a home victory over the Wildcats (1-4, 0-4 Central Wisconsin Conference-10). Abby Polzin tallied eight points, nine rebounds and three steals for the Mustangs (2-3, 2-2 CWC-10). WRESTLING Seymour 54 Shawano 18 Damon Braatz, Wyatt Welch and Austin Oreskovic all recorded pins for Shawano in Friday’s loss to Seymour. Devon Stege fought hard but was pinned at the 4:49 mark of the match, with Patrik Balint making it into the second period before getting pinned. Freshman Crede Timm was pinned in the final seconds of the first period.
