The skeletal remains believed to be that of a missing Neenah man were found Sunday afternoon on county forest land in Bagley, according to a statement released jointly by the Oconto County Sheriff’s Department and Neenah Police Department.
A group of bear hunters found a red Ford Ranger pick-up in a wooded pine plantation about 3 miles north of Suring, and a deputy responding to the scene verified the vehicle belonged to Kyle Blohm, last seen on Aug. 8, 2014.
The deputy checking the area around the truck located the skeletal remains of a person. Oconto County officials are working to positively identify the remains.
Blohm was the subject of a significant search effort by family members and law enforcement. He disappeared mysteriously and took several personal items with him. All search efforts proved fruitless.
While the identity of the skeletal remains is not yet confirmed, family members are aware of the implications of the discovery. They released a statement, prepared by Blohm’s father, Mike Bogan. In the statement Blohm is described as an “outstanding son, father, brother, nephew, cousin and friend.”
“He will be greatly missed by all who loved him,” the family said. “We ask that you please give the family some privacy to grieve at this time. Thank you to all that have supported us throughout this difficult time. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.”
