Magnin places 3rd in FFA contest

Oconto Falls High School FFA member Ally Magnin placed third in the state in a speaking event at the annual FFA convention in Madison. Magnin competed in the state Discussion Meet contest on June 16. She advanced to the state contest after competing in two qualifying contests at the district and sectional levels last winter and spring, against students from area schools. At the state event, Magnin advanced from the preliminary round to the finals and placed third overall. Two years ago, Magnin competed at the national level in Louisville, Kentucky, in the Creed Speaking competition and earned a bronze award. Magnin also played percussion in the FFA State Honors Band. The FFA band performed at the convention and will perform from Aug. 13-16 at the Wisconsin State Fair.
