Sandra A. Brenwall, 71, of Suring, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2015, surrounded by her loving family after a long, seven-year courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Oconto Falls on April 21, 1944, to the late Richard and Nora Firgens and was eighth youngest of the nine children.
Sandra graduated from Suring High School and married Lawrence “Red” Brenwall on Nov. 3, 1962, at the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Hayes.
Sandra was a loving, caring individual with a zest for life. Her encouraging words and support lifted many spirits and kind deeds warmed the hearts of many. She so generously cared for family and friends, providing shuttle for those in need. She was a pillar of spiritual faith and guidance to all who knew her. She was an active member of the Suring United Methodist Church.
Sandra is survived by her husband of 52 years, Lawrence “Red”; two sons, Mike (Sue) Brenwall, of Green Bay, and their children, Derek and Brett; Dale (Patty) Brenwall, of Green Bay, and their children Jacob and Kendall; a daughter-in-law, Sheila Brenwall (late Doug Brenwall), of Green Bay, and their children, Peyton, Zach and Seth (Krissi) Sheikh; two sisters, Phyllis Ermis, of Suring, and Linda Bowman, of Mountain.
She was preceded in death by her son, Douglas; four sisters, Eleanor Christensen, Lois Howen, LaVerne School and Eunice School; and two brothers, Harvey Firgens and Richard Firgens.
Visitation was held at Gruetzmacher Funeral Home in Suring on Friday, Oct. 9, from 4-8 p.m. Visitation continued on Saturday at Suring United Methodist Church from 9 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Daniel Nault officiating.
