Nelson, 34, Oconto Falls, on a felony charge of injury by negligent use of a weapon/explosive, party to a crime, and a misdemeanor, which allegedly occurred July 4 in Oconto Falls. The court set a $5,000 signature bond. A waiver preliminary hearing/arraignment is Oct. 27.
Proceedings from Oct. 2
A plea/sentencing hearing was held for Jacob W. Oestreich, 26, Oconto Falls. He pleaded no contest to felony charges of OWI (fourth within five years) occurring Jan. 27 in Oconto Falls. A determinate sentence of five years (two years incarceration and three years extended supervision) was imposed and stayed, and he was sentenced to three years of probation with conditions of driver’s license revocation for 36 months, ignition interlock for 36 months and a six-point demerit. He must complete alcohol and other drug abuse treatment and any other assessments, treatments and follow-up programs and maintain absolute sobriety. A charge of operating with prohibited alcohol concentration (fourth within five years) was dismissed by the court.
A status conference/plea hearing was held for Scott J. Arveson, 45, Denmark. He pleaded no contest to felony charges of child enticement with sexual contact on Feb. 13 and 15 in Oconto Falls. The court dismissed charges of use of a computer to facilitate a child sex crime and causing a child 13-18 to view sexual activity. A $50,000 cash bond continues. Sentencing is Nov. 16.
An arraignment was held for Christopher W. Matuszak, 37, Green Bay. He pleaded not guilty to 10 counts of failure to support a child (120-plus days), which allegedly occurred from March 2011 through July 2014. The court set a $10,000 signature bond. A pretrial conference is Oct. 28.
