Bennie Emil Schenkoski, 86, of Gillett, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2015, at his home. The son of the late Emil and Emlie (Schindel) Schenkoski was born Sept. 25, 1929, in Oconto Falls.
Bennie married Florence Schutt on Oct. 9, 1954, in Oconto. He worked for a number of years as a milk truck driver and later at a cheese factory. He spent his remaining years farming in the town of Gillett. He was a member of St. John’s Riverside Lutheran Church. Besides working on his farm, he enjoyed gardening.
He is survived by his wife, Florence; three sons, Pete (Chris), of Abrams, Allen (Jane) and Gary (Laura), both of Gillett; grandchildren, Dana (Doug) Wojcik, Stachia (Ryan) Desterheft, Clarisse (Ross) Klosterman, Jennifer (Phillip) Miller, Luke Schenkoski, Jeremy Schenkoski, Justin (Denae) Schenkoski, Ashley Schenkoski; stepgrandchildren, Paige Dillenburg, Taylor Dillenburg and Tara Rasmussen; great-grandchildren, Alexis and Brennin Wojcik, Garrett and Calab Klosterman, Ava, Oliver, Bree and Clark Miller, Aurora Schenkoski and Rykr Schenkoski; one future great-granddaughter; one sister, Lena Severson, of Gillett; and two brothers, Gust Schenkoski, of Suring, and Walter (Dolly) Schenkoski, of Gillett.
He was preceded in death by his son, Gaylord Schenkoski; his parents; three brothers Rudy, Willie and Edward; and a sister, Tillie Yanke.
Friends called on Monday, Nov. 2, from 9-11 a.m. at St. John’s Riverside Lutheran Church.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 2, at St. John’s Riverside Lutheran Church, with the Rev. James Athey officiating. Burial was in St. John’s Riverside Lutheran Cemetery.
