Marcella F. Klitzke

Marcella F. Klitzke, 99, of Oconomowoc, passed away on Dec. 18, 2015. She was born on May 25, 1916, the daughter of Robert and Elsie (nee Gandt) Klitzke in Gillett. Preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Dorothy Klitzke and Virginia Cannon. Surviving are several cousins and many friends. Marcella’s family moved to a farm on Silver Lake in Oconomowoc when she was a young girl. At 17 years old, she began working for the Krause family in Brookfield as a house mother. Later she moved to the Oconomowoc area and worked 33 years for the Weix family. Marcella was a devoted servant and a giving friend to many. She often reached out to strangers to meet them and make a connection. Marcella first heard the Gospel story when she was 5 years old and later embraced it for herself. She loved her place in the church, singing the hymns and looked forward to the weekly Bible study in her room. Funeral services were Dec. 23 at 7 p.m. at the Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home with visitation from 5-7 p.m. A private burial followed on Dec. 24 at La Belle Cemetery.
