Peterson runs for Gillett School Board
One newcomer is set to join the School Board in Gillett, the only school district in the area in which an incumbent is not seeking a return to office.
Preston Peterson has filed as a candidate in the April 5 election, along with incumbents Jamie Young and Cliff Gerbers. Nicole Sturm, citing family and work commitments, has decided not to run for office.
Unopposed incumbents in the other area races are Ron Leja and Tracey Krumrei, Oconto Falls; Kristan Huberty and Ed Huberty, Lena; Wayne Sleeter and Cheryl Ustianowski, Suring; and Barb McKeefry and Trina Townsend, Pulaski.
Townsend initially filed noncandidacy papers but later reconsidered when no one else filed for the seat.
