The Twisted Chic Co. was already an established retailer of women’s wear when it moved April 18 into Suites on Main, 132 S. Main St., Shawano.

Owner Bree Hornes had a website, plus space at Boho Belle Boutique before moving to her new location.

“I had a minimal space at Boho Belle,” Hornes said. “I was there from January to April. I grew quite a bit, so I ended up finding my new store.”

Her website, www.twistedchicco.com, launched Jan. 1, and she moved into Boho Belle Boutique by mid-January. She had started buying up inventory in November and December 2025.

Her new shop’s second-floor retail space is bright and modern, allowing customers a lot of room to look over the items for sale.

“I’ve never been up here before,” said Chloe Shoup, of Bonduel, while shopping at Twisted Chic Co. “I saw your sign. It was cute. It was like a little secret up here.”

Hornes offers a line of clothing that is unique to the busy Main Street shopping district, selling collections such as Southern Belle, Prairie Moon and Midnight Cowgirl, clothing with a Western twist.

“I’m very picky about what I get,” she said.

Hornes noted that she checks out reviews and the experiences other people have had with the wholesalers she uses.

One of her featured clothing items is Western graphic tees.

“Graphics are a big thing in the Western wear industry,” Hornes said. “They are really universal, you can wear the tees with anything.”

She currently features clothing for warm weather, with sleeveless tops and vests.

Of one of her lines, Prairie Moon, she said, “It’s kind of like Little House on the Prairie.”

Some items include patchwork, suede and lace, similar to women’s clothing on TV shows like “Yellowstone,” “Dutton Ranch” and “Ransom Canyon.”

Hornes’ Facebook page has examples of the fall lines coming in next week.

Jeans from a Western wear vendor will be in stock soon.

Hornes said that the fall and winter stock will include sweaters that should appeal to all shoppers.

“I think I’ll have a jewelry girl coming up soon,” she said.

The jewelry will include turquoise and natural pearls, some of the more authentic Western-style jewelry, according to Hornes.

She also sells candles, lotions, purses and cowboy boots, with more items on the way.

The hat bar at Twisted Chic Co. is definitely unique to the Shawano shopping district. Customers can customize their own cowboy and Panama hats in the store.

“People can sign up to register for my hat bar events,” Hornes said.

Customers can call the store or message to sign up.

The biweekly events are advertised on the Twisted Chic Co. Facebook page and are limited to five people. Customers pick out a hat, Panama flat-brimmed style or traditional cowboy hat. Then they pick out their band and other customizations.

“I can do bachelorette parties and private parties,” Hornes said.

Customers need to text or message to make arrangements.

Hornes updates the website when she brings in new inventory and works in the store along with three part-time helpers.

Hornes is a working mother, with two small girls. Hadley Rose is 6, and Taytum Blayke is 1. She is expecting another child in February.

Along with her partner, Russell Batista, they own Bison Trail Outfitters, in Navarino, where they offer group horseback trail rides. They also breed Pembroke Welsh Corgis and sell horses through Spinning B Equine.
