Thielke’s 14 strikeouts leads Bonduel past Shawano

A big day on the mound for Bonduel’s Jett Thielke led to another Dairyland League win for the Broncos.

Thielke struck out 14 batters over six innings in a 5-2 win over Shawano on Aug. 2 at Jack Reinke Field.

Bonduel 5, Shawano 2

The Broncos improved to 13-2 in Dairyland play with a home win over the Lobos.

J.C. Reinke had three of Bonduel’s eight hits, while Easton Reinke and Adam Frost added two hits. Frost drove in a pair of runs with a home run.

Thielke got the win for the Broncos, and Brooks Hartlaben picked up a save.

Marinette 7, Hofa Park 6

Rylie Nelson broke a 6-6 tie by driving in the winning run to give the Redbirds a home win over the Panthers.

Waupaca 5, Hortonville 0

Waupaca headed to Hortonville and returned home with a shutout win over the Stars.

Navarino 14, Nichols 11

Nichols fell to the Rangers on Aug. 1 despite leading by five runs at one point.

Besides combining for 25 runs, the teams also had 31 hits, with Navarino having a 16-15 advantage.

Ryan Boettcher gave Navarino the lead in the top of the first inning with an RBI single, but Cade Johnson tied the game for Nichols in the bottom half of the frame.

Navarino regained the lead in the third inning with three runs before the Nitros answered with five runs on five hits to take an 8-5 lead in the fifth. Two of the runs scored on an error.

Boettcher and Mason Dingledein had RBI singles in the eighth inning for the Rangers.

Justin Krull and Johnson led Nichols with three hits each, while Derek Krull and Johnson drove in three runs. Max Belling, Nolan Beilfuss and Romy Oskey added two hits each.

Boettcher drove in a game-high five runs to lead Navarino at the plate and had six hits in seven trips to the plate.

Andres Finley picked up the win on the mound, and Johnson took the loss for Nichols.

Hofa Park at Shawano

A rescheduled matchup between the Panthers and Lobos set for July 31 was canceled.

Waupaca at Marinette

The game between Waupaca and Marinette scheduled for July 31 was canceled.
