Wittenberg-Birnamwood girls softball showed why they are seeded first in their Division 3 sectional, defeating No. 8 seed Xavier 14-0.
Rory Salvesen led the Chargers, hitting 3-for-3 with four RBIs and three runs scored.
Brie Ladika was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored.
Jayda Moenke and Kennedy Benbo each collected two hits, and Moenke had a double and two RBIs.
Zoey Thorson and Chloe Hanson each hit a double.
Kendall Lex was the winning pitcher. In five innings, she gave up three hits, walked one and struck out three.
Bonduel 11, Shiocton 0
Top-seeded Bonduel advanced to the regional championship after beating No. 8 seed Shiocton 11-0 in the Division 4 second round.
Gracyn Wudtke and Juliana Jacobs each hit 2-for-3 with a double, three RBIs and a run scored for the Bears.
Maddie Hert also had two RBIs.
Emery Thompson pitched the full five innings for the win.
She allowed three hits, walked one and struck out nine.
Marion 20, Gibraltar/Washington Island 13
In Division 5 action, No. 5 seed Marion won the slugfest with No. 4 seed Gibraltar/Washington Island, 20-13.
Tigerton 8, Goodman/Pembine 5
Tigerton, seeded No. 2 in its Division 5 sectional, beat No. 7 Goodman/Pembine 8-5 to advance to the regional title game.
Emily Rich hit 2-for-6 with a home run, six RBIs and two runs scored to lead the Tigers.
Jaelyn Brady had a double.
Rosholt 13, Lena/St. Thomas Aquinas Academy 3
Lena/St. Thomas Aquinas Academy, seeded sixth, fell 13-3 to No. 3 seed Rosholt in Division 5’s second round of regional games.
Bay Port 8, Pulaski 1
Pulaski’s softball season ended with an 8-1 loss to Bay Port in the first round of regional action for Division 1 schools.
The Red Raiders were seeded ninth, and the Pirates were eighth.
Kamrie Dorn hit 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.
Fox Valley Lutheran 28, Oconto Falls 0
The No. 1 seed Fox Valley Lutheran crushed No. 9 seed Oconto Falls 28-0 in three innings in the second round of Division 2 playoff action.
