Chargers softball team wins in top of the ninth

Wittenberg-Birnamwood 12, Iola-Scandinavia 10

The Chargers scored two runs in the top of the ninth inning to defeat Iola-Scandinavia 12-10.

Zoey Thorson and Rory Salvesen each had home runs in the win. Brie Ladika hit a double.

Chloe Hanson recorded three RBIs, while Ladika, Salvesen and Jayda Moenke each had two.

Kendall Lex pitched six innings to get the win. She allowed seven runs on 13 hits and struck out three.

Bonduel 16, Menominee Nation 1

Marlie Hartmann hit 3-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored in Bonduel’s 16-1 thrashing of Menominee Nation.

Emery Thompson, Juliana Jacobs and Kallie Wilcox each had two RBIs, while Brianna Berg and Allison Zernicke each had two hits.

Maizy Mikel had the Eagles only hit and scored the team’s only run.

Wilcox struck out eight in her complete game of three innings.

Cecilia Grignow was the losing pitcher. She allowed 16 runs on 13 hits, struck out one and walked three.

Fox Valley Lutheran 3, Shawano 0

Ayanna O’Kimosh hit a double as one of Shawano’s three hits in a 3-0 loss to Fox Valley Lutheran.

Kadence Meyers was the losing pitcher. She gave up three runs on six hits, walked one and struck out three.
