Alfred H. Keith

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Alfred Henry Keith on Oct. 28, 2024, at the age of 89. Alfred was born on March 21, 1935, in Lena to Henry and Josephine Keith. Alfred attended Oconto Falls High School and St. Norbert College in preparation for his vast and ambitious career. He was voted “most handsome” in school and enjoyed playing basketball. Alfred then served his country as an Army cryptographer at the NATO headquarters before founding his Dairy Farm Leasing Company, The Groveland Gallery, Josefina Properties and Groveland Financial Corporation. Throughout his business ventures he remained remarkably humble, wise, witty and devoted to his family. Alfred met the love of his life, Shirley, on a blind date. The two would share a 64-year long marriage that was full of delight, collaboration and affection. Alfred was Shirley’s “secret admirer,” world travel companion and best friend. Their love story remains inspirational to all who know them. Preceded in joining the Lord were his mother and father, Henry and Josephine Keith; son, Kerry Keith; brother, Kenneth Keith; sister, Mary Dean (Keith) Lundquist; brother-in-law, Vern Lundquist. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Keith; son, Aaron Keith; daughters, Amanda Keith and Sabrina Keith; daughter-in-law, Victoria Barlow; grandchildren, Zander Keith, Guinevere Keith and Peyton Keith; sister, Kathleen Keith; and many wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, co-workers. Services will be held Saturday, Nov. 16, 2024, at Jones Funeral Services in Oconto Falls. Visitation begins at noon, eulogy service at 2 p.m, followed by a luncheon at St. Anthony Church from 3-6 p.m. There will also be services held on Nov. 30, 2024, at Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Visitation begins at noon, eulogy service at 2 p.m., followed by a 3 p.m. procession to the mausoleum where Alfred will be entombed alongside his son, Kerry. We will also host a buffet from 3:30-6:30 p.m. at The Bakken Science Museum following the entombment.
