UW-Whitewater
A pair of area women attending UW-Whitewater have been named resident assistants (RA) for the 2024-25 academic year.
They are Lily Hakes, from Suring, who is studying biology, and Hannah Marien, from Shawano, who is studying criminology.
RAs are part-time student staff members who live in the residence halls with students, serve as a resource and positive role model, and help build a sense of community by hosting floor events.
Prospective RAs must have experience living on campus for two semesters and have a minimum GPA of 2.25. They go through group interviews with peers and housing staff members, and an individual interview before being offered the position.

Kate Bahrke, a marketing major from Oconto, who graduated from Oconto High School, is a member of the 2024 UW-Whitewater volleyball team.
The Warhawks entered the 2024 campaign ranked 10th in the first American Volleyball Coaches Association poll of the season.
UW-Whitewater
Brock Egnarski from Pulaski, who is studying physical education at UW-Whitewater, is representing the university as a student teacher during the fall 2024 semester.
Egnarski, a student in UW-Whitewater’s College of Education and Professional Studies, is serving as a student teacher in the physical education program at Forest Glen Elementary in the Howard-Suamico School District through the middle of January 2025.
Student teaching is the final activity before teacher candidates earn their degree and license.
