Joan Mc Donald, 87, of Lena, passed away unexpectedly May 20, 2024, at Bellin Health, Green Bay.
Joan was born to the late John and Emily (Nasgovitz) Swenty on Jan. 24, 1937. She married Russell Mc Donald on March 19, 1955, at The Oconto Gospel Chapel. Joan was a member of Section Eight Baptist Church, Pound.
Joan enjoyed picking all kinds of berries, especially strawberries, blackberries and blueberries. She also enjoyed canning pickles, baking pies and homemade doughnuts and bringing them to her loved ones to surprise them, and traveling with family and friends. Joan loved her various different jobs over the years and was always on the go. Her latest job was delivering parts for Carquest of Coleman.
Surviving are her husband of 69 years, Russell; five children, Harlan (Bonnie) Mc Donald, Roger Mc Donald, Larry (Julie) Mc Donald, Diane (Tim) Lavarda and Cheryl “Tina” Mc Donald; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Wilbert and Leroy Swenty; two sisters, Della Kostreva and Janette Zorzi; and an infant granddaughter, Sara.
The family will greet relatives and friends June 4, 2024, at Section Eight Baptist Church, Pound, from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Kevin Holland officiating. Joan will be placed to rest at First Baptist Cemetery, Pound. Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, Lena is assisting the family.
