Tigerton wins conference softball title

May 13 Tigerton 8, Northland Lutheran 3 Tigerton 11, Northland Lutheran 8 Tigerton won both ends of a doubleheader at home against Northland Lutheran. In doing so, they became champions of the Central Wisconsin North Conference with a 10-2 conference mark and overall 11-7 record. The 8-3 game one lasted six innings, while the 11-8 game two lasted four innings. In game one, Maycee Carlson and Jessalyn Zimdars each hit 2-for-2, and Sienna Breaker was 2-for-3. Danika Tiller was the winning pitcher, striking out nine, walking two and scattering seven hits across six innings. In the second game, Tigerton was trailing 8-6 after three innings, but five runs in the fourth inning game the Tigers a come-from-behind win. Hitting 2-for-2 were Aaliyah Lederhaus, Izzy Zychowicz (including a double) and Myah Dent. Jade Selle hit 2-for-3, and Hailey Erdmann was 4-for-4 with a double. Lederhaus was the winning pitcher, striking out two and walking seven while giving up six hits in four innings. Antigo 7, Wittenberg-Birnamwood 0 Wittenberg-Birnamwood won eight of its previous 11 games and was ready to take on Antigo, which had won nine of its last 11. The Chargers ended up getting shut out 7-0. Jayda Moenke went 2-for-3.
