The March 2024 average price received by farmers for soybeans, at $11.60 per bushel, was 50 cents below the February price and $2.80 below the March 2023 price.
The March average oat price per bushel, at $4, was 8 cents below February and 54 cents below March 2023.
All hay prices in Wisconsin averaged $175 per ton in March. This was $4 below the February price but $23 above the March 2023 price. The March 2024 alfalfa hay price, at $187, was $1 above the previous month and $25 above March 2023. The average price received for other hay during March was $137 per ton. This was $15 below the February price but $22 above March last year.
The Wisconsin all milk price for March was $19.10 per hundredweight (cwt) according to the latest USDA, National Agricultural Statistics Service — Agricultural Prices report.
This was 10 cents above last month’s price but $1.60 below last March’s price. The U.S. all milk price for March was $20.70 per cwt, $1.60 higher than Wisconsin’s price and 10 cents higher than last month’s U.S. price.
