Oconto Falls Elementary School held an open house April 18 for incoming 4-year-old kindergarten students and their families.
Approximately 44 new students and their families attended. The children were able to tour their potential classrooms and meet district staff members along with other area service providers.
Oconto County Health and Human Services professionals provided home safety kits as well as other guidance and materials for households with young children. HSHS St. Clare Hospital provided a drawing and door prize won by future 4K student Adalaide Steppe. The PIE (Partners In Education) Organization provided balloons and photo opportunities for the children and their families.
Additional door prizes comprised of items available at local businesses were won by Easton Vandenlangenberg, Vivian Hobyan, River Booth, Caire Warner, Marshall Bursa, Graham Trebel, Sofia Tyler, Nigel Russ, Wade Blaser and Hattie Coopman.
Christian Dance Company and Sarah’s Dance Academy had sign-up information available for those interested in studio dance classes. Mr. Pig from Iverson’s Piggly Wiggly came to greet the students and welcome them to school. The children enjoyed high fives, dancing and photos with the hometown grocery mascot.
Varsity football players clad in their jerseys and Paws the panther mascot were available for games and activities in the gymnasium. Those who attended were given a Class of 2038 T-shirt as their first school spirit apparel. Milk and cookies were provided by the school’s food service and 4K program.
Enrollment remains open for any child turning 4 on or before Sept. 1.
