Hawks go 1-3 at Wausau event

April 12-13 Shawano’s tennis team lost to Wausau East, Wausau West and D.C. Everest before coming back to defeat Wausau East during a two-day event in Wausau. On April 12, the Hawks went down 5-2 to Wausau East. Shawano’s victories were from a pair of doubles matches. George Buerman and Tristan Sheldon won at No. 1, and Tristan Tetting and Isaac Welander won at No. 2. Later that day, Shawano lost 4-3 to Wausau West. Andrew Vandenheuvel won 6-1, 7-5 at No. 1 singles. Doubles wins were notched by Sheldon and Buerman at No. 1, and Cristian Hernandez and Domenic Badalamenti at No. 3. On April 13, it was D.C. Everest topping Shawano 5-2. Buerman and Sheldon again won at No. 1 doubles, while Tetting and Welander won at No. 2. Shawano then bounced back, defeating Wausau East 6-1. Benjamin Langlois won 7-5, 6-2 at No. 1 singles, Hernandez won 7-5, 6-1 at No. 3, and Elias Popp won 6-2, 2-6, 10-7 at No. 4. All three doubles teams won. Buerman and Sheldon won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1, Tetting and Welander won 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2, and Vandenheuvel and Evan Anderson won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3.
