Shawano boys, girls win conference track and field quads

April 9 Bay Conference Quadrangular Shawano’s boys and girls track and field teams each took first place at a Bay Conference Quadrangular at New London, with Seymour and Green Bay East. Taking first place for the girls were Grace Chelberg in the 800- and 1,600-meter runs, Adalyn Barkley in the 400-meter dash and the triple jump, Maci Beyer in the high jump, Lauren Seehafer in the long jump and Hatty Fritz in the shot put. Earning second-place finishes were Natalie Bystol in the 100-meter dash, Lily Guenther in the 800- and 1,600-meter runs, Tela Hopfensperger in the 300-meter hurdles, Ali Lemerond in the pole vault, Madisyn Weinig in the discus and shot put, Barkley in the 200-meter dash, the 4x200-meter relay team (Barkley, Beyer, Hopfensperger and Onna Hermann) and the 4x400 team (Chelberg, Guenther, Bailey Hendricks and Hopfensperger). Hendricks was third in the 800- and 1,600-meter runs, as was Bailey DeFere in the discus, Beyer in the 200- and 400-meter dashes, and the 4x100 team (DeFere, Lemerond, Weinig and Hatty Fritz). First-place awards on the boys side went to Lucas Nuthals in the 100-meter dash, Will Chelberg in the 800- and 1,600-meter runs and Ethan Onesti in the 3,200-meter run. Drake Herm won the pole vault and the 200- and 400-meter dashes. Second-place honors were recorded by Herm in the 100-meter dash, Nuthals in the 200- and 400-meter dashes, Andon Chelberg in the 800-meter run, Josiah Kuehl in the 3,200-meter run, Ryan Schwitzer in the pole vault and the 4x400 team (Will Chelberg, Conner Chelberg, Andon Chelberg and Trevor Schwartz). Taking third for the Hawks were Aiden Rasmussen in the 100- and 200-meter dashes and the long jump, Ryan Schwitzer in the 400-meter dash, Joe Kelliher in the 300-meter hurdles and Mason Theis in the discus. North Eastern Conference Pentathlon The Oconto Falls boys tied Waupaca for third place with 59 points and the girls placed fourth with 68 points at a North Eastern Conference Pentathlon in Waupaca. Bryce Schefdore led the boys with a first-place finish in the discus at 121 feet, 9 inches. Schefdore was second in the shot put, with Jonathan Moody in 10th. Conner Wilquet placed second in the 100-meter dash, with Brady Bursa in fifth and Isaac Bramer in seventh. Wilquet was also second in the 200-meter dash, with Bramer in third. Alex Haines finished in second in the 110-meter hurdles, and Emerich Skarban placed sixth. In the 300-meter hurdles, it was Haines in fifth and Skarban in sixth. Emerson Rice placed third in the 800-meter run. The 4x100-meter and 4x800-meter relay teams placed third, and the 4x400 team was fourth. Haines took third in the high jump, and Skarban was fifth. Bursa was fifth in the long jump and the triple jump. Brant Laluzerne finished sixth in the 400-meter dash. The girls captured three top spots. Rylie Shallow was No. 1 in the 100-meter dash in 12.98. Morgan Moynihan was first in the discus at 86-11. Also first was the 4x800 team in 11:00.31. The 4x100 team placed second, with the 4x200 team in third and the 4x400 team in fourth. Abby Budz was second in the triple jump, Hailey Delzer was seventh and Emery Pagel was eighth. Brooke Hodkiewicz finished second in the high jump, followed by Gwen Maggio in third, Lily Van De Ven in seventh and Eloise Thompson in ninth. Joining Shallow in the 100-meter dash were Budz in fourth, Gracie Miller in sixth, Anna Spaulding in eighth and Ashlyn Vandermoss in ninth. In the discus, Ava Hodkiewicz was fourth, Hailey Rugg was sixth, and Grace Molitor was ninth. In the 3,200-meter run, Delzer placed third, and Emma Meissner was fourth. Brynn Hodkiewicz placed fourth in the 400-meter dash, with Maddy Przybylski in seventh and Rhiana Vandeyacht in ninth. Brooke Hodkiewicz was fourth in the 1,600-meter run. Brooke Hodkiewicz was fifth in the 800-meter run, and Hannah Ludemann was ninth. Bailee Gorman was seventh in the 200-meter dash, and Vandermoss was eighth. Miller was seventh in the long jump. Molitor was seventh in the shot put, followed by Kati Raddatz in eighth and Aly Yuma in ninth. Anna Burd placed eighth in the pole vault.
