Pulaski’s boys 4x800-meter relay team had the best finish March 16 at UW-Stevens Point. The team placed 11th.
Other top-20 finishes were Arden Gillen, 15th in 1,600-meter run; Parker Marshall, 19th in the 1,600-meter run; the 4x200-meter relay team, 14th; the 4x400-meter relay team, 16th; and Rylan Opperman, 20th in the 400-meter dash.
March 14
Shawano and Pulaski athletes competed at a large-school meet at UW-Oshkosh on March 14, and it was a small contingent for each track and field team.
Three Shawano runners competed in the 200-meter dash. Senior Logan Korth placed 20th in 25.41 seconds, followed by junior Austin Peterson in 22nd with a time of 25.56 and freshman Ryan Schwitzer in 30th at 26.69.
Pulaski sophomore Rylan Opperman finished 30th in the 400-meter dash in 1:01.63, with Shawano freshman Joshua Lesperance right behind in 31st place in 1:03.61.
Ethan Onesti, a Shawano junior, placed ninth in the 800-meter run in 2:10.85. He was also ninth in the 1,600-meter run in 4:48.53; teammate senior Jaymin Boivin finished in 26th place in 5:11.71.
Shawano senior Aidan Preston finished 23rd in the 3,200-meter run in 11:45.1.
The 4x200-meter relay featured the Shawano team of Schwitzer, junior Drake Herm, Korth and Peterson finishing in 17th in 1:41.49. A Pulaski foursome placed 20th in 1:44.
A team from Pulaski placed 15th in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 4:02.61.
In the long jump, Pulaski junior Brayden Kamps placed 22nd with a jump of 16 feet 9.75 inches. A trio of Shawano jumpers also competed with Korth finishing 26th at 16-04, Schwitzer in 29th at 16-02 and Ainsworth in 32nd at 15-03.
Triple jump competitors included Pulaski athlete Madden Skenandore, finishing in 13th place with a jump of 37-11.5, and Ainsworth in 24th at 31-02.
Pulaski senior Jack Marsh was the top local athlete competing in the shot put. He placed 17th with a toss of 43-08. Joining him in the event was Shawano junior Mason Theis, 30th, 36-06, and teammate Andrew Herrmann, a senior, 35th place, 32-01.
In the 60-meter dash preliminaries, Pulaski junior Rylan Rodal placed 13th with a time of 7.33 seconds. He was joined by Pulaski senior Jake Adams, 15th place, 7.36; Herm, 33rd, 7.66; Pulaski sophomore Malakai Godfrey, 42nd, 7.77; and Shawano sophomore Kaden Ewert, 52nd, 8.04. None advanced to the finals.
In the prelims for the 60-meter hurdles, Skenandore placed 10th in 9.21; he did not advance to the final race.
