Dana D. Nicola

Dana Delores (Ermis) Nicola passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 10, 2024. Dana was born on Dec. 11, 1988, to Dohn and Roma Ermis in Shawano. She graduated from Suring High School with the class of 2007 and lived in Suring with her family. Her greatest accomplishment was being a mother to her three children. She was very proud to have made them from scratch. Dana had a very strong presence in her community. She helped to coordinate and grow the Suring Youth Basketball program. She coached her daughter, Alexa, and the junior high girls basketball team. Dana was passionate about spending time with her family, crafting, horses, the Green Bay Packers, the annual Boots ‘N’ Mugs Bean Bag Tournament and her friends who became family. She enjoyed all types of music and was an avid concert attendee. Dana was a mother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend. She served as the hostess and event planner of the Ermis family. She planned many family gatherings and holiday celebrations and ensured that all were invited to join and were welcomed into the family. Dana is survived by her children, Alexa and Lincoln; their father, Michael Nicola; mother, Roma Ermis; siblings, Mike (Kellie), Devin (Jocelyn), Darren (Kassandra), Daniel (Melissa), Dohn (Jessica), Dustin (Jordyn) and Darcie (Andrew). Dana is further survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Dana was preceded in death by her daughter, Emersyn; father, Dohn; grandparents, Dennis and Phyllis and Vernon and Margaret; nephew, Jude. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 17, 2024, at Gruetzmacher Funeral Home from noon to 3:30 p.m. The memorial service will be held at the Red Maple Country Club at 4 p.m. with Pastor Dominic Petit officiating.
