Myrna J. McKay, 82, of the Town of Belle Plaine, passed away Wednesday morning, Feb. 28, 2024, at the Greentree Health and Rehabilitation Center in Clintonville.
Myrna Jean Bittorf was born on Sept. 1, 1941, in Sturgeon Bay as the daughter of the late Ewald and Erna (Benke) Bittorf. Myrna graduated from Shawano High School in 1959 and was united in marriage to James McKay on Nov. 10, 1960, in Memphis, Tennessee.
Myrna spent 26 years working as a cashier for 21st Century Genetics near Shawano. She was a faithful member of St. Martin Lutheran Church in Clintonville for many years. Throughout her life, Myrna did a little of everything but most of all enjoyed taking care of her home and being around her family.
Survivors include sons, Jim (Kathleen) and Cory (Julie) McKay; grandchildren, Connie (Nate) Frey, Joshua (Jessica) McKay and Nathan Hewitt; and great-grandchildren, Aiden, Kelsey, Daniel and Julia.
Myrna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James, in 2022; and a brother, Ottis Bittorf.
A memorial service will be held for Myrna on Wednesday March 6, 2024, at 11 a.m. at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home north location, 53 N. Main St., Clintonville, with the Rev. Jason Zobel officiating. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Inurnment will follow at the Friendship Cemetery in the Town of Belle Plaine.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established by Myrna’s family.
