Mary Louise Grignon

Mary Louise Grignon, 83, of Keshena, passed away on Monday, Oct. 18, 2021. She was born April 25, 1938, in Keshena to the late Raymond and Josephine (Nahwahquaw) Grignon Sr. Mary attended St. Joseph’s Catholic School, Shawano High School and went on to Milwaukee Vocational School. Mary worked at Menominee Tribal Offices, and then she became the first clerk of court and register of deeds for Menominee County. Mary later worked at the Menominee Tribal Court and then the Menominee Casino Resort before retiring from the Menominee Tribal Housing Authority. Mary was an avid bowler and was on bowling leagues for many years. She has enjoyed playing Bingo and going on casino tours with her family. She enjoyed watching the Brewers, Bucks, Badgers and Packers. Mary especially loved being surrounded by her family and going to visit her sister Myrna while they sat outside. Mary was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church of Keshena. Mary is survived by her son, Jeff (Dory) Grignon; siblings, Myrna Winter, Dennis (Linda) Grignon and David (Donna) Grignon; grandchildren, Desirae (Justin) Wilber, Stevie Grignon, Evelynn (Jay Johnson) Grignon and Jacob (Avari Fernandez) Grignon; six great-grandsons, Justin, Rebel, Shelton, Silas, Onyx and Wyllie; nieces and nephews, David (Glee) Grignon, Pam Grignon, Ruth (Andy Kessen) Winter, Ben (Lucy) Grignon, Dan (Nanaque LaTender) Grignon, Marcus (Monica G.) Grignon, Kenew (John) Tucker, Shawn Cunningham, Rami (Don) Hoaglin and Cameron (Amanda) Cunningham; many great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Wilfred, Raymond Jr., Cecil and Robert; and two sisters in infancy, Delores and Mona. A memorial service for Mary will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, 2021, at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano.
