Karen Ann Zoeller

Karen Ann Zoeller, 77, Howard, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2021, after a brief illness. She was born April 13, 1944, in Suring to Ed and Irma (Zaddack) Bubolz. Karen was a 1962 graduate of Suring High School. She met Ron Zoeller at the Gillett Fair, and they married in 1964. Together they shared 57 incredible years. Karen was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. In addition to being a loving wife and homemaker, she also took special pride as a self-employed food demonstrator handing out food samples in our local grocery stores. She loved to play cards and bingo. Karen was known for her delicious potato salad and her sweets/baking, which included puffy cookies, apple and banana cream pies. Time spent camping in the Crandon area with Ron and family was special to Karen. She also enjoyed frequent trips to Branson and Florida with Ron. Karen also liked dancing and going to see live music. Halloween was a fun holiday for Karen and Ron, as for over 30 years they appeared at costume contests as an “elderly couple” and had taken first place in many events. She is survived by her loving husband, Ronald; four children, Tammie (Doug) La Count, Debbie (Frank) Pope, Sandi (Dave) Kappus, Rick (Tammy) Zoeller; 10 grandchildren, Nathan (special friend, Debbie Bigelow) La Count, Steven (Savanna) La Count, Barrett La Count, Danielle (fiancé, Josh Niemela) La Count, Ashley Mistoler, Eric Mistoler, Alexander (special friend, Hailey) Kappus, Sydney Kappus, Emily Kappus, Cole Keuter; one great-grandchild, Emerica; her sister, Gladys Pichette; sister-in-law, Kathy (Steve) Bahr; brother-in-law, Dick (Peggy) Zoeller; and special aunt, Mae Adams; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Irma Bubolz; sisters, Sylvia (Don) Lambrecht and Ardella Bubolz; brother, Gary Bubolz; brother-in-law, Norbert Pichette; niece, Dawn Bubolz; and nephew Gary Bubolz.
