Barbara A. Monfort

Barbara Ann (Siebert) Monfort died on Oct. 12, 2021, of pancreatic cancer. She was born Feb. 27, 1936, in rural Marion to Henry and Clara (Culver) Siebert, the youngest of 13 children. In 1941, she moved with her family to the Gillett area. Barbara met and married the love of her life, Freeman (Bud) Monfort, in 1952. Together they raised four children while residing in Green Bay, Two Rivers and Howard. She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. In 1995, “Bobbie” and Bud retired and moved to Half Moon Lake near Crivitz, where they enjoyed living in the north woods for 21 years. In 2017, they moved to be nearer to family as Bud’s health declined. Barbara is survived by one son, Jeffrey (YooKyeong); three daughters, Connie (James) Baumgart, Vicki (Charles) Petersen and Kristi Moore; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She is further survived by sisters-in-law Nancy Campbell, Bonnie Monfort; brother-in-law Carl (Frances) Monfort, and many nieces and nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Bud; her parents; 12 siblings and their spouses, several nieces and nephews, and a grandson-in-law. In honoring her wishes, she has chosen cremation and no funeral service. Her cremains will be joined with her husband’s and interred at Wanderer’s Rest Cemetery in Gillett.
