Kathryn J. Folkman

Kathryn J. Folkman, 67, of Hobart, was called home to eternal rest on June 17, 2021, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born Sept. 10, 1953, to Melvin and Gloria (Erdman) Hovie, Kathy graduated from Bonduel High School in 1970. Following graduation, she worked at Aid Association for Lutherans in Appleton, until she married the love of her life, James Folkman, on Nov. 8, 1975. Together they farmed in the Town of Angelica, where they raised their family. Later, Kathy would work at American Medical Security in Green Bay. While Kathy found satisfaction in the awards she and Jim won for farming and took pleasure in the lifelong friendships she formed in her office jobs, the true pride and joy of her life was her family. Kathy was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother, always putting the needs of her family first. Some of the happiest family memories include camping trips all across the country, and Kathy graciously hosting many, many gatherings throughout the seasons. When not busy working or taking care of her family, Kathy enjoyed feeding a variety of birds, tending to her flower gardens and crafting numerous quilts and blankets that will provide her family warmth and comfort for years to come. Kathy will be deeply missed by her husband, James; children, Matt (Jenny) Folkman, Oakes, North Dakota, Tarra (Mike) Gallagher, Green Bay, Eric (Joanna) Folkman, Sheboygan, and Ryan (Jennifer) Folkman, Pulaski; grandchildren, Abby, Emily, Kaitlyn, Benjamin, Nathan, Jacob, Grace, Mark, Zachary, Delaney, Cassidy, Asher, Joshua, Logan and Brielle; father, Melvin Hovie, Pulaski; sisters, Debbie (Joe Oskey) Mueller, Pulaski, and Pam (Cliff) Landwerlen, Jamestown, Indiana; brother-in-law, Bill (Florence) Folkman, Krakow; many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends; and her beloved dog, Pete. She was preceded in death by mother, Gloria Hovie; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Elma and Elmer Folkman; sisters-in-law, Elaine Bucholz, Arly Buntrock and Bev Anderson; and brother-in-law, Dewey Folkman. Friends are invited to gather with the family from 4-7 p.m., Tuesday, June 23, at Marnocha Funeral Home, 186 E. Pulaski St., Pulaski. Visitation will continue Wednesday at Peace Lutheran Church, 1954 County Road U, Green Bay, from 10-11 a.m. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. at the church with Pastor Stuart Dornfeld officiating.
