Shawano Optimists
The Shawano Optimist Club recently held its annual Rose Day fundraiser, which helps support youth activities and many organizations in the Shawano area.
Optimist club President Jim Black said, “Thanks to very hard work by Optimist club members and amazing support from individuals throughout the Shawano area, we sold a record number of roses this year. Because of the pandemic, we probably won’t be able to hold as many fundraisers as in the past, so this fundraiser was very important.”
As a “thank you” to Angie Bistoff, owner of Angie’s Main Café in downtown Shawano, the Optimist Club presented her with a dozen roses for all she does for the community and for hosting the club’s meetings.
“I really appreciated the thought,” Bistoff said, “and also appreciate all the Optimist club does for our community.”
