Michael Leo Sutherland, 83, of Hudson, Florida, formerly of Bonduel, passed away on Sept. 8, 2020, at a VA hospital in Tampa, Florida. He was born May 12, 1937, in Detroit, Michigan, to Leo H. and Marie E. Sutherland.
Michael enlisted in the United States Navy from 1956 through 1967, serving as an aviation structural mechanic during Vietnam attached to a heavy attack squadron. After the service, Mike was the owner/operator of several service stations before farming in Michigan. Mike became a member of the Bonduel farming community in 1976. Mike was a member of the Bonduel area VFW.
Surviving Mike are his wife, Nancy K. Sutherland, of Hudson, Florida; brothers, Colin Sutherland and Joseph Sutherland, both of Michigan; sister, Ann Marie Sutherland, of Michigan; seven children, Nancy (Bill) Kulman, of Port Huron, Michigan, Kathy (Todd) Kienbaum, of Appleton, Chris (Sonya) Sutherland, of Gillett, Terry (Pat) Cotharin, of New Port Richy, Florida, Michael K. (Connie) Sutherland, of Bonduel, Susan (Bob) VanSciver, of Appleton, and Mary (Scott) Mellberg, of Appleton; 17 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Peter Sutherland and Donald Sutherland.
Private funeral services will be held at a later date.
