The director of the Tourism and Economic Development Corporation for the Oconto Region says an NFL Draft task force has been formed to bring as many dollars as possible into Oconto County.
Jayme Sellen, TEDCOR executive director, reported to the county board July 18 that the task force planned to meet for the first time this week.
The Green Bay Packers will host the 2025 NFL Draft next April, an event expected to bring thousands of visitors and millions of dollars to the region.
“This isn’t just about the hospitality business — the hotels, motels, restaurants, bars and attractions,” Sellen said. “The NFL needs help with electricians, cleaning, you name it, they have a whole host of services that they need while they’re in town.”
Local businesses will have an opportunity to bid on and provide those services, she said.
“We’re going to be doing some training on how to become certified so the NFL can work with you,” Sellen said.
More details will be announced in coming weeks, she said.
