As we enter the new year, there are a few reminders to pass along from the Town Board. If you are a Morgan property owner still looking for an opportunity to pay your property taxes in person, you may do so from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, at the town hall. Otherwise, tax payments may be mailed to the town treasurer, Cindy Smith, at 9342 County Road E, Oconto Falls, WI 54154, until Jan. 31. Please note that tax payments are not collected in person at the town treasurer’s home.
Information on 2016 dog licenses can be found on the town website, www.townofmorgan.org, under the tab labeled “Fees, Permits, & Forms.” Questions about property taxes and dog licenses can be directed to the town treasurer, Cindy Smith, at 920-846-4246.
The Green Valley-Morgan Fire Department would like to remind residents that it is important to keep driveways clear of obstacles, such as overgrown vegetation, gates, numerous vehicles and deep snow, so that fire trucks and other emergency vehicles can easily access the property in the event of an emergency. Fire Chief Leonard Wahl can answer questions about driveway accessibility, and he may be reached at 920-373-3308.
Neighborly Note: Morgan has a new young resident. My husband, Drew, and I welcomed our little girl, Grace Jean Oswald, born on Nov. 4. Grace’s grandparents are Larry and Kate Oswald, of Genesee, and Al and Jan Stranz, of Abrams, and her great-grandma is Marilyn Holte, of Chippewa Falls.
Please note the following upcoming meetings: The next Town Board meeting is at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 11. There will be a meeting for the town clerk’s election inspectors from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 16, at the town hall.
