A Minnesota man was arrested Monday, June 22, after traveling to Oconto Falls with the intention of meeting a 14-year-old girl for sex, Oconto Falls Police Chief Brad Olsen said in a press release.
Mohmednoor Sahane Abdullahi, 21, was taken into custody by the Oconto Falls Police Department, Gillett Police Department and Oconto County Sheriff’s Department.
Abdullahi originally made contact with an officer portraying a minor female through an ad placed on Craigslist.
The arrest was part of the Internet Crimes Against Children work of Oconto Falls Police Officer Jamie Kuhn, who in 2014 completed a weeklong training session to learn about cyber crime. Kuhn does a majority of the local ICAC investigations and follow-ups to cyber tips during her regular duty hours and also devotes extra time to training.
Abdullahi is being held in the Oconto County Jail on a $50,000 cash bond. He has been charged with use of a computer to facilitate a child sex crime and child enticement. He is due back in court July 6 for a bail/bond hearing.
It is the second ICAC arrest made in Oconto Falls this year.
Scott Arveson, 46, of Denmark, was arrested in February. He pleaded not guilty in Oconto County Circuit Court to three felony charges related to child sex crimes.
