Mildred “Midge” Leslie, 95, of Mattoon, died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2026, at Rosemary Manor in Mattoon.
Midge was born Sept. 30, 1930, in Chicago, the daughter of William Sr. and Genevieve (Skeel) Leslie.
Midge worked as an X-ray technician in Chicago. She enjoyed the outdoors, biking and canoeing. Midge enjoyed traveling and going to Door County. She liked to watch tennis, softball and westerns.
Midge is survived by her siblings, Vivian Klitzka, of Fox Lake, Illinois, Dorothy Klitzka, of De Pere, Harry Leslie, of Sussex, Carol Leslie, of Mattoon, Marilyn Maus, of Mattoon, Beatrice (Robert) Birk, of Plantation, Florida, Jayne (Thomas) Monroe, of Glendale, Arizona, and Jeff (Ruza) Leslie, of Queen Creek, Arizona; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends.
Midge was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Frank, Tom, Bill and Jim; two sisters, Kathleen and Genevieve.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 11, 2026, at the Mattoon Community Hall. Visitation will be on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the hall. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in the Town of Hutchins.
