Mildred Leona Schuh, 97, formerly of Shawano and De Pere, passed away Saturday, April 9, 2022, in West Friendship, Maryland. Born on Feb. 3, 1925, in Bonduel, she was the daughter of the late George and Caroline (Christianson) Dingledein. After graduating from high school, Mildred moved to Los Angeles to work as a welder on Liberty ships during World War II.
After the war, Mildred moved to Lunds where she met the love of her life. On Feb. 15, 1947, she was united in marriage to Leland J. Schuh in Shawano. They lived in Shawano through 1960, then their family moved to De Pere until 1983 and returned to Shawano until 2018. The couple enjoyed traveling and wintering in California. Mildred enjoyed the many reunions with her extended family.
Mildred is survived by her three children, David (Sharon) Schuh, of Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania, Steven (Frances) Schuh, of Cocoa Beach, Florida, James Schuh and Lucy Lynn, of West Friendship, Maryland; eight grandchildren, Michelle Schuh Reilly, Michael (Abby) Schuh, Joseph (Julie) Schuh, John (Natalie) Schuh, Christian and Kellen Fruhwirth, Caitlin (Clay) Steele and Eric Schuh; eight great-grandchildren, Kyra, Ally, Jack, Layne, Sophie, Avery, Emory and Wynona; and one great-great-grandchild, Riley.
Mildred was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Leland: her daughter, Cynthia (Tony) Fruhwirth; her parents; five sisters; and three brothers.
Private family services were held. Cotter Funeral and Cremation Care of De Pere is assisting the family with the arrangements.
