Michael W. Wenner

Michael W. Wenner, 69, of Tigerton, passed away Friday, Feb. 10, 2023, at Shawano Health Services. Michael William Wenner was born Dec. 23, 1953, in Milwaukee to Joseph and Gladys (Genskow) Wenner. His family moved to Auburndale in 1960, and they moved to Clintonville in 1963. Mike graduated from Clintonville Senior High School with the Class of 1972. Following graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army with his good friends Pat Rice and the late Don Stilen. Mike served with the 703rd Maintenance Battalion in Germany. After his discharge in 1975, he attended Fox Valley Technical College for the diesel mechanic program. Over his career, he had worked for Service Motor Company, Peterson Built, Spiegelberg Implement and Clintonville Motors. Mike’s favorite pastime was being outdoors, whether he was trout fishing, deer hunting or camping. He was a longtime member of Trout Unlimited and liked working on stream renovation projects. Mike loved collecting toy tractors and attending local thresherees. Mike and his cousins enjoyed driving their antique tractors in local parades. He also liked helping his cousin during maple syrup season. Survivors include his three siblings, Karen (Gary) Miller, of Manitowoc, Merrijo (Thomas) Smith, of Manawa, and Jeff (Janet) Wenner, of Bear Creek; eight nieces and nephews, Josh (Miranda) Smith, of Manawa, Zach (Michelle) Miller, of Sheboygan, Chris (Sarah) Wenner, of Bear Creek, Ryan (Katie) Smith, of Combined Locks, Kym (Kyle) Tessen, of Appleton, Cory Miller, of Manitowoc, Nicki (Zach) Brazgel, of Madison, and Billy Wenner, of Green Bay. He is further survived by many other relatives and friends. Mike was preceded in death by his parents. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, Feb. 26 from 2-4 p.m. at Beil-Didier Funeral Home in Clintonville with military honors at 4 p.m. The family is requesting casual dress because that’s what Mike would have wanted.
