The Machickanee Players will hold tryouts at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 3 and 4 for their fall production of “Dearly Beloved.”
The play requires an assorted cast. While some of the characters’ ages are flexible, ideally the cast will consist of four woman ages 40-50, two men ages 40-50, two men ages 20-30, one woman in her 20s, and two women 20 or older.
The play is a comedy with the following plot: Frankie Futrelle is throwing a wedding for her daughter with the help of her wedding coordinator (who also runs the local floral shop/bus stop), her sister Twink (who wants to marry her boyfriend of 15 years) and her other sister Honey Raye (whose numerous trips down the aisle have been a topic of gossip for years). All seems to be going well until Frankie discovers the catered dinner is now a potluck. What will happen next?
The Players are looking for individuals to audition for the play and help with backstage tasks such as set changes, set building, lights and sounds, and ushering on performance nights. Anyone who loves theater is encouraged to attend.
Tryouts and performances will be at The Park Ave. Playhouse, 408 Park Ave., Oconto. Production dates are Oct. 16-18 and 23-25.
