Lorraine M. Boldig, 88, town of Morris, passed away peacefully at Homme Home for Aging, Wittenberg, on Sept. 29, 2015. She was born in the town of Morris to Bert and Gladys Feavel on Feb. 14, 1927.
Lorraine was married to Frederick Boldig on May 10, 1952. They remained married until Frederick’s passing on July 3, 1965.
Lorraine and Frederick had seven children who still survive her. Survivors include Gordon (Sally) Boldig, town of Morris, Michael Boldig, Antigo, Patricia Boldig, Wittenberg, David (Glenda) Boldig, town of Morris, Gary (Sheila) Boldig, Elderon, Donald (Brenda) Boldig, Tilleda, and Marsha (Jeff) Provoast, Tigerton; grandchildren, Kregg (Jenn) Boldig, Kurt (Sarah) Boldig, Kelsey (Adam) Jacobs, Alison Boldig, Melissa (John) Besaw, Amy (Leroy) Ellis, Justin (Melissa) Beckwith, Mason Boldig, Danielle (Matt) Zdroik, Megan Boldig, Wade (Korinne) Provoast, and Patrick Provoast; great-grandchildren, Kane, Cody, Cole, Abby, Chloe, Maddox, Joaquin, Hailey, Lainee, Sofia and Jonathan; her sister, Arlene Johnson, and family; and sister-in-law, Shirley Feavel, and family.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick; parents, Bert and Gladys; baby girl in infancy; grandson, Matthew; brother, Donalcq Feavel; brother-in-law, Charlie Johnson; and niece, Cathy Johnson.
Lorraine worked for many years at Fred Boldig and Sons Sawmill and in later years operated the L&N Gift Shop in Bowler/Tigerton. She also worked as a correspondent for the Wittenberg Enterprise over the years reporting on Morris news and events. Lorraine can be remembered for the famous quote “lunch was served and a good time was had by all.” She enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren participate in sports throughout the years. Lorraine especially loved watching and listening to the Milwaukee Brewers. She was an active crafter, creating beautiful knitting and crocheting projects enjoyed by family and friends.
Lorraine will most be remembered for her love for her family and how much she enjoyed family cookouts and gatherings. Lorraine was a member of the Immanuel Women of Faith and lifetime member of the Court Whist Club and Homemakers Club.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Oct. 10, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in the town of Morris. Friends and family can gather to share memories of Lorraine and her life from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m., with burial and luncheon following.
