Shawano County Republican Party Chairman Richard Kucksdorf and a few other members were on stage with former President Donald Trump during his April 2 rally in Green Bay.
Trump spoke beside an empty podium that read, “Anytime. Anywhere. Anyplace.” Trump said it was meant for President Joe Biden, whose campaign has not committed to participating in debates.
“My guess is about 3,000-plus at the rally,” Kucksdorf said. “Trump was very funny.”
Two Shawano County Republican Party members — Lowell Hammett and Janet Holbrook — were on stage in VIP seats sitting directly behind Trump.
Kucksdorf also visited with U.S. Senate candidate Eric Hovde and his wife, Sharon, at the rally.
“I spent a good amount of time chatting with Eric Hovde and his wife,” he said. “I liked him.”
Hovde is scheduled to attend a Pints and Politics event April 15 at the local party headquarters, 712 E. Green Bay St., Shawano.
Doors will open at 5 p.m. Hovde is expected to arrive about 5:30 p.m. and will take questions at 6 p.m.
Hovde’s visit to Shawano in March was postponed.
Soda, ice and water will be available on their own or to be used with mixers. Those who want liquor or beer will have to bring their own. A 50/50 raffle will also be held.
