Lamberies 4th at 'The Big Dance'

Clintonville High School junior Lucas Lamberies finished fourth at the “Big Dance” at the IMCA Super Nationals in Boone, Iowa in early September. Of the 160 racers in the IMCA Sports Mods division who came out to compete for the week, Lamberies topped them all in a qualifying feature and Race of Champions. During the Race of Champions on Saturday afternoon, for only current track champions, Lamberies fell into second place off the start and had to fight his way back into the lead. He was able to sustain the lead, just like many times here in Shawano, before the main feature on Saturday night. The final event of the weekend, “The Big Dance” Saturday night topped an exciting weekend for the 16-year-old. Lamberies, who had little expectations for the experience based on his previous trip down there, in which he was not able to win a race. Lamberies had finished first in the points standings at Shawano Speedway in the IMCA Sport Mods division this season, just two points ahead of Jason Jach.
