June E. Pederson, 83, of Shawano, passed away Sunday, July 7, 2013, at a local nursing home. Born on March 17, 1930, in Caroline, she was the daughter of the late August and Frieda (Ebert) Grosskopf. On Oct. 9, 1948, she was united in marriage to Walter Pederson in Shawano. He preceded her in death on April 25, 2012. June was a dedicated homemaker who took great pride in raising her children. She loved moments spent with her entire family, especially her beloved grandchildren. She also enjoyed going for walks, picking berries, bowling, watching the birds, and tending to her flower gardens. In her younger years she enjoyed fishing, and in more recent years, she enjoyed playing cards, especially cribbage. June was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Shawano. June is survived by her six children, Walter (Sharon) Pederson III, of Florida, Sandra Jaje, of Weston, Kem (Gail) Pederson Sr., of Shawano, Shelley Brennan, of Gresham, Jill (Jim) Kamke, of Shawano, Scott Pederson, of Shawano; 14 grandchildren, Rena, Ryan, Kari, Kem Jr., Josie, Sarah, Richard, Bill, Craig, Adam, Tim, Bobbie, Tori, Taylor; numerous great-grandchildren; a brother, LuVerne “Bud” Grosskopf, of Neenah; and a sister, Florence Stueck, of Shawano. June was preceded in death by her former husband, Walter; a granddaughter, Stacy Jaje; her parents; a brother, Herbert Grosskopf; and a sister, Mabel Otto. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 11, 2013, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Shawano with the Rev. Gisele Berninghaus officiating. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano. Visitation will be held at the Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
